BigFuture Days for Parents

Five ways to help your teen prepare for BigFuture Days.

We’re excited to have your child attend BigFuture Days. They’ll have a chance to connect directly with college admissions representatives and current college students to learn more about schools they’re interested in.

As the parent or guardian of a high school student, you can help in these ways:

Register

If they haven’t already done so, encourage them to register for BigFuture Days. They’ll be asked to provide a parent/guardian email address as a part of that process, so make sure they include yours.

Parent Login

You’ll receive a confirmation email that your child is registered, which will include login information in case you want to attend.

Save a List

Encourage your child to review the list of colleges attending and save a list of the schools they’re most interested in connecting with.

Explore Options

If they’re unsure of which colleges they want to connect with, we encourage them to talk with their counselor or use our tool on BigFuture to narrow down schools by what they’re interested in. Try sorting by intended major or location. Don’t worry right now whether they’ll get accepted. Start with a broad list to gather information.

Gather Questions

Make a list of your and your child’s questions. You’ll have a chance to talk with college admissions representatives as well as current college students. What are things you want to ask them directly that can’t be found on their website?
